Ми вміємо будувати речення, де присудок виражено будь-яким дієсловом, що виражає дію, у теперішньому та минулому часі. Для типової дії в теперішньому часі нам потрібна початкова (базова) форма дієслова, якщо підмет виражений третьою особою однини, до дієслова додається закінчення -s (-es). Для запитань і заперечень потрібен "хелпер" do/does. У минулому часі правильні дієслова вимагають закінчення -ed, неправильні дієслова вимагають вживання другої форми. Для запитань і заперечних речень ми використовуємо "хелпер" did.

Ми знаємо побудову речень із дієсловом to be в теперішньому та минулому часі. Дієслово to be не потребує вживання "хелпера" для запитань і заперечень і змінюється за особами та числами. У теперішньому часі має три форми (is, am, are), у минулому - дві форми (was, were).

Ми знаємо вживання дієслова have got. До речі, зауважте, що have got використовується тільки в теперішньому часі, а в минулому буде використовуватися тільки have як звичайне дієслово.

Ми вміємо вживати структуру there (be). У теперішньому часі її використовують для того, щоб описати, що десь щось знаходиться, з формами to be - is для однини та are для множини. У минулому часі вона використовується для опису того, що десь щось було, з формами was для однини і were для множини. Ми можемо використати цю структуру для опису країни, яку Ви відвідали, і готелю, в якому Ви зупинялися.
